Compare these 5 major points on all IPL & Laser brands before purchasing
(Our Lux IPL has all):
- You need to have a Pulse width of 100ms or greater. If you are dealing in lower pulse widths of between 20-75ms you will run the risk of skin damage when trying to administer the same amount of power as a machine that is using 100ms or greater.
- Guaranteed flash counts = Cost of Running Equipment. An average busy clinic will utilize roughly 100,000 flash´s per/year, therefore you are able to calculate your running costs according to your flash count number. Do not get caught up in pay per flash schemes or sales representative promises, always go on guaranteed flash counts.
- Patient Contact Cooling cools and protects the skin before, during and after treatment of the patient. Many technologies will claim they have cooling, but what they are referring to is machine cooling or probe cooling, not patient contact cooling. All Lux IPL equipment that we sell have 3 levels of cooling; Machine, Handpiece and client.
There are 4 main benefits of the patient contact cooling:
No need to use Gel.
Higher power can be used to treat without causing skin damage.
Treatments are much less painful, thus giving your patient a comfort factor and likely repeat business for the clinic.
The use of equipment that does not have patient contact cooling poses a far greater risk of skin damage to dark skin type patients than equipment that does have this feature.
- Flash Repetition Rate is the speed rate that the machines will flash from one flash to the next. Most low cost IPL equipment have a flash rate of between 4-7 seconds, this makes large areas very time consuming to treat. The Lux IPL has a flash rate of between 0.5 – 2 seconds.
- Spot sizes is related to point number 2. When calculating the running costs of your system it is not only the cost of flashes that should be taken into account but also spot size; if one spot is only half the size of the next one, twice as many flashes will be required to achieve the same result. For example if the spot size is 7.5 cm/sq and the other product is 3.75cm/sq there is a factor of 2.
